After Night Falls depicts a princess caught in the forest in the dead of night, contemplating the path that she must take to return home safely. Her face is wrought with concern as she makes her choice. Ultimately, I believe that this represents each of our life’s journeys. We are posed with choices in the dark, in which we have no way of knowing whether we are making the right choices, yet we must somehow muster the courage to choose.
The actual model posing in this photo related deeply to the imagery herein—she was bisexual, and in the midst of choosing between two lovers. Regardless of her choice, the outcome would result in life-altering pain for each of them.
