Why CandelART? Candelart is made up of candela = unit for luminous intensity (ca) and art.
Inspired by the book "Expedition into Light", in which light painting fills a chapter, I started my first attempts at painting with light in November 2017.
The internet is full of instructions for building pixel sticks and self-made light blades. But what fascinates me the most is the possibility of using anything that lights up: LED strips, empty plastic bottles on torches, plastic tubes and plastic packaging, to name a few. The biggest project was my ORBOMAT. This is a robot that produces ORBs. You can see some examples on this page.
Now, at the end of 2024, I can look back on a few exhibitions and still have a lot more planned. Lightpainting now occupies a large part of my life. Lightpainting is therapy and joie de vivre for me. It has also led to friendships. I can no longer imagine life without light painting.
